AFRICAN FREEDOM DAY

                                                   

 The African Freedom Day was convened by prime Minister of Ghana Dr. Kwame Nkruma and comprised representatives from Egypt, Ethopia, Liberia, Libya, Morocco, Sudan, Tunisia, the union of the people of Cameroon and of the host country Ghana.

 It was founded not only to celebrate freedom, but also to promote unity, peace and solidarity among African States.

Our African leaders converged on 25th May, 1963 to form the organisation of African Unity (OAU), now called the African Union (AU).

The day gives us a chance to reflect on the progress that Africa has made, while also coming together to find solutions to the challenges that we face on the continent.
